President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Sunday directed the Higher Committee for the Preservation of Historic Cities to quickly provide the necessary capabilities for relief, maintenance and restoration of the houses damaged by torrential rains in Old Sana’a city.
During his meeting with the committee headed by Director of the Presidential Office Ahmed Hamed and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, President Al-Mashat called on all concerned parties to cooperate in implementing the law to preserve historic cities.
The meeting dealt with the damages that the old city of Sanaa is exposed to as a result of the torrential rains, and ways to develop and modernize work mechanisms in the authorities concerned with preserving historical cities.
