The Guidance Office in Shabwah province on Friday condemned the targeting of Islamic monuments and historical evidence in the province by the UAE-backed militia.

In a statement issued today, the Guidance Office said that “the demolition of shrines and historical monuments in Shabwah indicates the maliciousness of the project and the deviant thought of the occupying forces and their mercenaries.”

The statement referred the attack on shrines did not occur in Shabwah except by “the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and the tools of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition”, considering this a targeting of the history of Yemen and Shabwa’s authentic civilization.

“The aggression mercenaries detonated the tomb of Abdulrahman bin Omar Badas in Arqa area in Radhom coast, and the Dome of bin Abdulsamad in the Radhom area, and this is a crime added to the criminal record of the aggression coalition and its mercenaries,” the office explained in the statement.

The statement stated that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are seeking to obliterate the historical heritage and religious monuments in Yemen, noting that the conflict taking place in Shabwa is “a scheme to shed the blood of its people so that the invaders and occupiers can control the province and plunder its oil wealth.”
