The UAE-backed Transitional Council killed one of the attackers of its forces in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, in an act that raises questions about the identity of those behind the attack.

Sources said that officers from the Security Belt lined up the only prisoner of the attackers, who holds Saudi citizenship, at the site of the attack on the checkpoint in the Ahwar district, east of Abyan.

They Emphasized that the process of killing the prisoner was deliberate, and it is not excluded that the perpetrators were from the Salafist elements affiliated with the Security Belt Forces, and loyal to “Al-Qaeda”.

This would bury the case and cover up the planners and financiers of the attack, which led to the killing and wounding of about 35 Belt Forces, including the commander of the “Anti-Terrorism” battalion.
