The factions of the UAE-backed Transitional Council failed to make progress on the outskirts of al-Qaeda strongholds in Abyan, southern Yemen.
This comes after a night of air raids on the province.
Tribal sources reported that a large force of the transitional factions, reinforced with armored vehicles and self-propelled guns, tried to advance towards the Omaran valley in the Mudiyah district from the direction of the Lahmar region, but it was subjected to attacks that forced it to retreat beyond its borders, which it had reached in earlier periods.
The sources indicated that the plan was aimed at besieging the organization’s elements and advancing towards Al-Mahfad, but to no avail
