The Parliament, in its session, Tuesday, headed by Parliament President, Yahya Al-Rahi, warned against the continuation of looting Yemen’s wealth by the US-Saudi aggression and mercenaries.
The Speaker of the Council confirmed that the Parliament addressed the Secretary-General of the UN and the Security Council, as well as addressing the heads of parliaments of regional and international countries through many messages in this regard.
Al-Rahi stressed the importance of continuing to address these bodies, organizations and countries not to deal with the mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression.
He pointed out that the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries are killing the Yemeni people, and at the same time plundering the country’s wealth and exploiting it in tightening the unjust siege on the Yemeni people, and imposing collective punishment on them.
The Speaker of the Council urged the government to activate its control bodies in combating smuggling, and work to provide fuel to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
The Minister of Oil indicated the need to continue following up on cases related to the looting of Yemen’s wealth in international courts, stressing the ministry’s readiness to assign international law firms to follow up on these cases.
The members of the Council pointed out that millions of dollars in the wealth of the Yemeni people are being looted, the proceeds of which were supposed to be allocated to disbursing the salaries of state employees.
For his part, the UN Resident Coordinator affirmed his keenness to coordinate and follow up in order to find solutions and remedies to the problem of detaining fuel ships and work to neutralize them in a way that contributes to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
He indicated that he realizes the extent of Yemenis’ need for oil, stressing that there is a real crisis that has caused the emergence of long queues for citizens’ cars in front of fuel filling stations.
The UN official reiterated his readiness to make more efforts in this regard to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.
