Shop owners in the city of Taiz started a massive strike, in protest against the escalation of repeated attacks by armed gangs.

The Taiz Traders Confederation issued a statement of condemnation and denunciation regarding the attacks against shop owners by the militias of the coalition.

The statement confirmed that the merchants are subjected to daily attacks by leaders affiliated with the coalition factions, including Suhaib Al-Mikhlafi and Ghazwan Al-Mikhlafi, sometimes with threats and sometimes by throwing live bullets towards their shops.

The statement held the local authority affiliated with the Presidential Council and its security and military factions responsible for the attacks and the widespread looting of merchants in the city.

The merchants and people of the city of Taiz, which is under the control of the Islah military forces, have been subjected to daily attacks since the beginning of the coalition war on Yemen, in light of the spread of armed gangs and the absence of any role for the security services.
