President Al-Mashat lays foundation stone for several water projects in capital Sana’a

President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Sunday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated work on a number of projects in the water and sanitation sector in the capital, Sana’a, at a total cost of 17,326,000 dollars.

President Al-Mashat, along with the Minister of Water and Environment, Abdulraqib Al-Shurmani, Mayor of the Capital Hamoud Obad and Deputy Water Hanin Al-Dreeb, laid the foundation stone for the project to rehabilitate the main transforming line and sewage treatment plant.

The projects for which the foundation stone was laid included the supply and installation of three generators with a capacity of 4,300 kilowatts for the water pumping station and the sewage treatment plant, the rehabilitation of the main water pumping station and the implementation of water and sewage networks in a number of districts of the capital.

The foundation stone was laid for the project to rehabilitate the main water pumping station, implement water and sewage networks in a number of districts of the capital, and a project to install solar energy with a capacity of 3,400 kilowatts for wells, a water pumping station and a sewage treatment plant.

President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of the water and sanitation projects, the foundation stone of which was laid today, to contribute to the provision of water services to the residents of the capital, Sanaa.

He affirmed the Supreme Political Council’s interest in delivering water services to citizens, especially in light of the current conditions the country is going through as a result of the aggression and siege, and the destruction it caused to the infrastructure of the water and environment sectors.
