The General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea received 14 fishermen who were detained by the mercenaries of the aggression, at the Fish Landing Center in Al-Lahya District, Hodeidah Governorate.

The Director General of Ports and Fishing Landing Centers at the authority, Aziz Atini, told the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that the returning fishermen were kidnapped by the mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression, and their detention periods varied from one week to 22 days.

The fishermen reported that the mercenaries kidnapped three of them from Ardeen Island, one of the islands of Midi District, Hajjah Governorate, and they were detained for 22 days on Farasan Island, and forced to contact their families to pay a ransom for their return, warning them not to inform any official body.

The fishermen indicated that they were released with their boat without an engine or fishing gear.

They stated that 11 fishermen were kidnapped from the Yemeni island of Shaabin, where they were intercepted by four Saudi barracudas, each on board four armed mercenaries, indicating that the mercenaries attacked the fishermen by beating and cursing, and they were taken to an unknown area.

The fishermen pointed out that after a week of physical and verbal abuse and deprivation of food, they were returned to the site of their abduction.

They were received by the Deputy Director of the Fish Landing Center in Al-Lahya, Muhammad Shoui, and Hussain Malqat, the Monitoring and Inspection Officer.
