Al-Mahra tribes have renewed their demand for the exit of foreign forces from Al-Ghaydah airport, which they have used as a barracks and military base since the start of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression on Yemen 8 years ago.
This came in the words of Salem Al-Zuwaidi, head of the Sihut and Al-Masila sit-in committee, during the inauguration of the food basket project for families affected by the torrential rains in Wadi Al-Masila.
Al-Zuwaidi pointed out that the occupation of Al-Ghaidha airport by the Saudi forces caused great suffering to the people of Wadi Al-Masila and delayed their relief, which was carried out before by transporting food convoys by helicopter.
The head of the Sihut and Masila sit-in committee stressed the need for the occupation forces to leave Al-Ghaydah airport and restore work to it as a civilian airport that serves all the people of Al-Mahrah.
At the beginning of last month, the US ambassador, Stephen Fagin, appeared with the commander of the US Fifth Fleet at Al-Ghaydah airport, what the people of Al-Mahrah and all the free people of Yemen considered a flagrant violation of Yemeni sovereignty.
