Britain officially received the security file in Aden. This coincides with its push for an agreement in Yemen that includes the secession of southern Yemen.
British security experts presided over a meeting with security officials, headed by Abu Bakr Jabr, the deputy director of security affiliated with the transitional government.
Transitional media reported that the British delegation thanked the security forces of Aden for cooperating with them during the last period, stressing the continuation of meetings between the two parties during the coming period.
According to the sources, the British team was briefed on security arrangements and the situation in the city, which is a prominent stronghold of the Transitional Council calling for the secession of southern Yemen, especially with regard to receiving foreign diplomats.
The security arrangements in Aden coincide with Britain pushing a proposal in the two Security Councils adopting the secession of southern Yemen, which reflects a British ambition to return to control the city that it ruled for more than a century during the British colonial era.
