Foreign Affairs Minister meets the Regional Director of the WFP

Foreign Minister Eng. Hisham Sharaf Abdullah met Corinne Madeleine Flasher,, Regional Director of the World Food Program for the Middle East and North Africa, and her accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, the Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the World Food Program intensifying its efforts in terms of increasing humanitarian assistance to the displaced, including facilitating their return to their areas of origin until they are settled.

He called on the World Food Program to provide technical support to the National Salvation Government to develop studies on developing the concept of food security for the post-aggression period.

For her part, the Regional Director of the World Food Program, Flasher, confirmed that the humanitarian situation in Yemen occupies a priority in the program’s agenda, noting that there is a funding gap that has led to a failure in the program’s implementation of its projects in Yemen.

The visit of the World Food Program delegation to Yemen comes within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the implementation of the program’s projects.
