The General Authority of Awqaf in Sana’a condemned on Sunday the conduct of a group of Zionist settlers who tore up and burned a copy of the Noble Qur’an while being protected by Zionist enemy troops.

In a statement issued today, the Awqaf Authority viewed these criminal and racist acts as evidence of the Zionist enemy’s disregard for divine religions and an attempt to destabilize the situation in occupied Palestinian territories by inciting global Muslim sentiment.

The statement held the Zionist enemy accountable for all of the repercussions of its previous transgressions and aggressions in terms of a threat to international peace and security.

The authority’s statement urged the Security Council to take responsibility by passing a resolution criminalizing acts against religions and religious symbols and punishing perpetrators of religious and belief-based hate crimes.
