The governor of Aden province in the National Salvation Government, Tariq Sallam, has confirmed on Sunday that “the difficult economic situation in Aden and the increasing price doses imposed by the mercenary government [the government loyal to Saudi-led aggression coalition] herald a humanitarian catastrophe.”

Sallam explained that “massive corruption, looting of the state treasury, and smuggling of hard currency outside the country by the mercenaries has exacerbated the situation in Aden and the occupied provinces.”

“The conflict between the occupier’s tools in the southern provinces and the military mobilisations taking place in them have drained the state’s resources in favour of mercenaries,” Sallam said.

He added that the mercenaries seek to inflame the situation in the occupied territories to obtain personal gains and interests, while citizens in Aden lack the most basic services.

The governor affirmed that “the people of Aden and the southern provinces will not stand idly by in the face of the deterioration of the situation, and they would have a clear and strong position towards the conspiracies hatched against them.”
