Maeen Abdul Malik government imposed a new dose in the prices of oil derivatives in the city of Aden, in southern Yemen, amid warnings of the repercussions of this on the deteriorating livelihood of citizens.

Sources reported that the oil company in Aden raised the price of a 20-liter gallon of gasoline to 21,300 riyals, or 1,065 riyals per liter, an increase of 500 riyals per bottle over the previous price of 20,800 riyals.

The dose is the second within a month, and it would exacerbate the living burdens endured by the residents of Aden, resulting from the collapse of basic services, especially electricity, as long interruptions continue at a rate of 9 hours per day, in conjunction with the continued decline of the local currency against foreign currencies.

The Moeen government’s approval of the new price dose came at a time when Aden is witnessing continuous protests for the third consecutive week against the deteriorating living and service conditions.
