Aden Sons Council accused the transitional forces of attacking a women’s protest in Al-Orod Square in the coastal city in southern Yemen.
The Council’s statement described the Transitional Forces’ attack on the women’s stand as a strange phenomenon, and said that the incident took place on Tuesday evening, and that charges of treason were brought against a number of Aden women activists participating in a protest in the Parade Square, Khor Maksar, and an attempt to physically assault one of the daughters of the late great Adeni artist, Muhammad Saad. The statement added, “This is an attack on the women’s silks in Aden and the suppression of freedom of expression, because the women only carry banners denouncing the collapse of public life in Aden.”
