Mayor of Sana’a and Secretariat Council Make Plans to Protect Infrastructure from Heavy Rainfall

The Capital Secretariat’s council discussed on Sunday in a meeting chaired by the Mayor of the capital Sana’a, Hamoud Obad, preparations for dealing with emergencies during the upcoming rainy season.

The meeting affirmed the declaration of a state of alert and maximum readiness to implement the required interventions, clean rainwater drainage channels in streets and tunnels, and develop urgent solutions to potential difficulties.

In the meeting, the works and projects sector was charged with counting the equipment and machinery of the districts, the executive unit, and the Public Works Office and implementing emergency interventions, each within the framework of its area, to reduce the damage caused by the flow of torrents and rainwater into tunnels during the coming period.
