The World Food Program (WFP)announced it had to cut rations for more than 10 million Yemenis due to a lack of funding, warning that it might have to take additional steps.
Data released by the WFP showed that food imports to Hodeidah ports decreased by 28% during the first five months of this year.

A recent report by the UN warned of the need for close monitoring in the coming months, in light of the low levels of imports, saying that since the launch of the Black Sea Initiative, eight ships of Ukrainian wheat have arrived in Yemen.

It stated that due to the severe and persistent funding shortage, the program had to transfer more than 900,000 beneficiaries of cash-based assistance to in-kind assistance.

The WFP had announced that it had received a new contribution of more than two and a half million dollars from the Australian government to support its activities in facing the food insecurity crisis in Yemen.

The program said that this new contribution will enable it to support some of the most food-insecure families in Yemen with food rations.
