Raed Jabal, the Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA), called on the United Nations to take a strong position against the aggression coalition and its mercenaries and force them to allow the operation of Sana’a airport to all destinations.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Raed Jabal pointed out that the death of passenger Maryam Hamoud Hadi at Sana’a airport, who was on her way to Jordan for treatment, is one of dozens of daily deaths in the country as a result of the coalition’s continued closure of Sanaa airport.
“When the coalition began its war and blockade on Yemen Sanaa airport was closed, and it is still closed today, despite the passage of a year and a half of the truce. It imposes its restrictions on Yemeni airspace and airports, preventing airlines from operating flights to and from Sana’a airport, despite the readiness of the airport, and the desire of a number of companies to operate from Sana’a airport,” the statement read.
He explained that the number of current flights from Sana’a airport does not serve the minimum needs of the Yemeni people, and any restrictions on the airport are inconsistent with international laws, calling for the speedy opening of Sana’a International Airport to neutralize Yemeni Airlines.
He regretted the reduction of flights by the Yemeni Airways to and from Sana’a airport without any justification.
Jabal affirmed that the coalition implements its unjust and deadly agenda against the Yemeni people through its mercenaries
