Defense Minister: Armed Forces capable to impose new rules of engagement with enemies

Special units of Yemeni armed forces carried out airdrops during a military exercise with live ammunition in Marib governorate, on Sunday.

According to Yemen News Agency SABA, based in Sana’a, the Central Military Region held a military parade and military exercise with live ammunition using various light, medium and heavy weapons. The exercise included support and airdrop of paratroopers from graduates of the “first special batch” of the Republican Guard forces, and the special forces of the region.

During the military parade, The Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi, affirmed that the graduation of these qualitative forces represents a strong tributary to strengthening the military capabilities of Yemen, keeping pace with the requirements of the current stage.

He pointed out the importance of specialized military scientific qualification, intensifying training, and moving towards completing the development of military industries and capabilities.

He indicated that Yemen is in the stage of de-escalation, and is ready for the option of peace, or a return to war.

The Minister of Defense made it clear that the supreme revolutionary and political leadership had met the efforts to establish peace positively, in the interest of establishing a comprehensive and just peace.

He pointed out that there is no acceptance of any maneuver by the US-Saudi aggression in implementing what was agreed upon regarding the rights and demands for the Yemeni people.

He pointed out that the US-British colonial powers are talking about peace in Yemen, while on the ground it is working on the opposite.

“We say to the US-Saudi aggression that the interest of the nation and the advancement of its people and its economic and security capabilities lie in the cooperation of its countries, and the unification of its positions on its issues,” he said.

The Minister of Defense praised the military experience, skills and knowledge acquired by the graduates, pointing out that it will contribute to strengthening aspects of construction, modernization and development of the armed forces.

Recently, the Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammad Al-Atifi, confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces have achieved, during more than eight years of aggression, great progress in the manufacturing of missiles and drones.

Major General Al-Atifi said, “The Yemeni armed forces have reached a large percentage of self-sufficiency, from making light weapons to long-range strategic ballistic missiles.”

He pointed out that the coalition of aggression against Yemen is still an illusion that Yemen will remain a backyard for anyone. He added that “the countries involved in aggression must stop their delusions, as the situation has changed. They must be well aware that the time of tutelage has ended, and it is time to restore a strong Yemen.”

“The Yemeni People will not accept anything less than leadership and strength, which confirms that Yemen and its wise leadership have the final word that must be heard,” he added.

The Minister of Defense explained that 3,000 days of aggression against Yemen proved the failure of the aggressors to achieve any of their goals in undermining the stability and steadfastness of the people, their armed forces, and their supreme revolutionary, political and military leadership.

“The countries involved in aggression did not realize the size of the losses and defeats that their armies and mercenaries suffered, and they still insist on their tyranny, unaware that the time of tutelage and domination over Yemen has passed irrevocably,” he added.
