The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a, Hisham Sharaf, has sent on Wednesday a message to a number of Foreign Ministers of friendly countries as well as to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
In his message, Minister Sharaf indicated that the US-Saudi aggression identifies Sana’a airspace as dangerous and insecure merely as a means to justify their blockade imposed on Sana’a International Airport.
He added that this leads to the mounting suffering of the Yemeni citizens.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs called on friendly countries and international organisations to call on the countries leading the aggression against Yemen to admit the safety and security of the Sanaa’s airspace.
The US-Saudi aggression still imposes a suffocating blockade on Yemen and closed down access to most ports and airports as a way to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people and create deteriorating living and economic conditions.
This way, the invaders are trying to barter the humanitarian aspect to obtain political and military gains at the expense of the Yemeni people.
The blockade has caused tremendous suffering for millions of Yemenis who are largely dependent on imports of food, fuel and medicines. It is one of the main reasons for the large-scale humanitarian crisis in the country that has pushed millions of Yemenis toward starvation and death due to lack of medical supplies, prompting the UN to call it the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
