Dozens of staff members at Aden University held a protest as part of their escalation plan called for by the Faculty Staff syndicate in four southern universities.

During their protest at the Faculty of Medicine, the university’s academic and administrative staff called on the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to raise their salaries and launch their annual bonus.

The protest came after universities of Aden, Lahj, Shabwah and Abyan carried out a protest last month in front of al-Ma’ashiq Palace, residence of the pro-coalition government and the “presidential leadership council”.

The faculty union calls for the immediate release of their financial settlements, raising their wages and salaries of academics in a way that is equivalent to the cost of living and the economic deterioration caused by the continuous collapse of the national currency.
