The National Defense Council announced on Wednesday the dismissal of the current government headed by Abdulaziz bin Habtoor and tasked it with managing ordinary public affairs except for appointments and dismissals until a new government is formed.
The National Defense Council issued its statement hours after a speech by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al Houthi, in which he announced the stage of profound changes.
The statement affirmed that the National Defense Council supports and welcomes the decision of Sayyed Abdulmalik, and the popular consensus in all governorates of Yemen.
The Council commended the government’s role during the previous period, despite facing the US-Saudi aggression, blockade, and limited resources. It also acknowledged the government’s contribution to the national and popular resilience in the face of the US-Saudi aggression.
The Council expressed gratitude for the honorable participation of the Yemeni people in the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday.
