Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, confirmed that the Council will spare no effort in supporting orphans and caring for them in all provinces of the Republic.

That came during the President’s inauguration of the second phase of the “And cooperate in Virtue and piety” project today at the orphanage in the capital, Sana’a, which is implemented by the General Authority for Endowments at a cost of four billion riyals.

President Al-Mashat and the Ministry of Finance directed the re-approval of the budget of the orphanage as it was previously. He said, “My orphan children, you are our children, our future, and you will be the focus of attention and care.”

He added, “From here, I donate half of my salary annually to the segment of orphans of the poor and needy. If we neglect your rights, you have a great father named Sayyed Commander Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.”

The president continued, “I promise you and all the orphans, the poor, and the needy that we will live up to the responsibility that we have shouldered.”

President Al-Mashat congratulated the leadership of the Endowments Authority for the achievement it had achieved within a short period since its establishment, appreciating the authority’s choice of the orphanage to launch its giant projects. I hope that the orphan segment will have a large part of those projects in the coming year, and that they will benefit all targeted segments of society.

He said, “Today we are launching at the orphanage the project ‘And cooperate in righteousness and piety’, which supports orphans, the blind, science students, and cancer patients, as well as supporting 300 official bodies, associations, and scientific centers, with an amount of four billion riyals for the year 1445 AH.”

He pointed out that the endowment funds were donated by fathers & grandfathers and deprived their children of them, so that their resources would reach the weak and poor segments of society, the sick, the wayfarer, students of knowledge, the construction of dams, water projects, and other services that benefit the poor and needy.

He added, “What everyone must understand is that the benefits of the endowment are for the poor citizen, just as the endowment has specified its disbursements for the weak, the poor, the needy, and the wayfarer. We emphasize to everyone that preserving the endowment funds is a religious duty and responsibility. If we are careful to preserve the endowment funds and recover its funds, we are preserving an important resource. It directly benefits society.”

President Al-Mashat praised the projects implemented by the General Authority for Endowments during the last period, which benefited hundreds of thousands of poor ,needy people, and embodied the disbursement of endowment funds for what was allocated to him, while the beneficiaries of endowment funds during the last stage were, unfortunately, the powerful.

He called on the Endowments Authority to prepare a rental policy that takes into account the poor , needy and eases their burden as much as possible.

He also called on those who still have endowment funds in their hands to fear God and pay the money they owe.
