The head of the Yemeni diplomatic delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, has condemned France’s continued confrontation with the national will of the Nigerien people.
“France must realize that it is a colonial power whose time is over after decades of plundering the wealth of Niger and other African countries,” he said in a post on his X account.
Niger’s top court approved the immediate expulsion of France’s ambassador, revoking his diplomatic immunity, according to a request addressed to the court’s president.
Thousands of angry demonstrators gathered outside the French military base in the Nigerien capital Niamey, demanding the immediate departure of all French troops from their country.
