A mysterious fire destroyed a power plant in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that a massive fire broke out at the Al-Amana power station in the Fuwah area in the city of Mukalla.
It added that the cause of the fire was not known, which broke out in the important station, which generates 20 megawatts of purchased power.
According to the sources, the fire destroyed 8 generators (out of 24) and two fuel tanks, which will cause increased hours of power outages in the coastal city.
It explained that the fire caused the loss of about 10 megawatts of the station’s capacity out of 20 megawatts.
