At least 50 people were killed after Israeli occupation missiles and artillery hit a school in the north of the Gaza Strip that was sheltering internally displaced people.

Palestine’s Shehab news agency said about 50 Palestinians were killed as the Israeli regime launched a missile attack on the al-Buraq School in Gaza.

The director of al-Shifa Hospital, where the casualties had been taken, also said around 50 people had lost their lives in Israeli strikes on the Palestinian school.

“About 50 martyrs were recovered from inside al-Buraq school… in the al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza after missile and artillery strikes that targeted the school this morning,” said Mohammad Abu Salmiya, the al-Shifa Hospital director.

Hamas described Israeli attacks on civilians as a “disgrace in the face of humanity”, saying in a Friday statement that “Our people will not be defeated by these criminal, fascist actions.”

Israel’s brutal onslaught on Gaza since October 7 has claimed more than 11,000 innocent lives in the besieged territory.
