A court in Aden failed for the second time to begin the trial of the former leader of the Security Belt Forces, Alaa Al-Mashriqi, due to armed tension and the spread of armed elements affiliated with the former leader.
Sources said that the transitional forces held meetings to discuss Al-Mashriqi’s trial, amid a sharp division between the leaders of the transitional forces.
It added that the opposition leaders see the trial of Al-Mashriqi as a dangerous indicator amid accusations of murders against leaders and a gateway to settling scores.
It pointed out that Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, who fears losing what remains of his prestige, has directed the preparations of large forces to secure the trial of Al-Mashriqi next Sunday, amid indications of the outbreak of an armed conflict.
