United States began indirect negotiations with Yemen. This coincides with escalating fears of the third phase of the Yemeni escalation against Israel.
Diplomatic sources reported that the negotiations are led by the Sultanate of Oman, noting that the American envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, is leading the negotiations on the American side with the Sanaa delegation… and the negotiations were completed indirectly, and are also focused on calm in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea in exchange for a comprehensive peace agreement in Yemen.
The head of the Sana’a delegation, Mohammad Abdelsalam, confirmed the existence of negotiations with international parties that he did not name, a few days after the American envoy spoke about contacts with regional parties to discuss the files of securing the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and peace in Yemen.
These developments come as Sana’a threatens the third phase of escalation against the Israeli occupation. It is expected that the new phase will include a complete closure of Bab al-Mandab, which is considered one of the most important shipping lanes around the world.
