Djiboutian government rejected a US request to allow missile launchers to be installed in Djibouti to target Yemen.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Djibouti, Hassan Razzaq, said, in an intervention with the channel, that the Prime Minister of Djibouti rejected an American request to install a missile launch pad in Djibouti to target the Houthis in Yemen, explaining that the Prime Minister stressed that “no areas of our territory can be targeted.”
He added, “Djibouti confirmed that the solution lies in stopping the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.”
Razzaq quoted shipping sources as saying, “There is a shortage of military supplies and military equipment by the countries participating in the so-called ‘Guardian of Prosperity’ in the Red Sea, which has increased the burden on the US Navy,” pointing out that the US Navy has no choice but to intensify patrols because it has not yet been able to secure those areas.
He stated that “all military patrols in the Red Sea will not be effective, given that the areas are vast, and the French ships also said that they are working to secure their interests only, and are not concerned with other ships.”
