Iraq decided the fate of the American forces on its soil , and the House of Representatives approved in today’s session the end of the American presence on Iraqi soil.

In a statement, Council President Mohsen Al-Mandalawi considered the decision to leave foreign forces to be principled and firm, calling on the Prime Minister to quickly implement the decision.

Parliament devoted today’s session to discussing the foreign presence and the repercussions of the recent aggression against Iraq. Parliament’s position reinforces the government position that was issued earlier and decided to begin arranging the exit of foreign forces.

Iraq has been witnessing a state of tension since American forces targeted a security center, resulting in the death of martyrs, including leaders of the Iraqi resistance. Several Iraqi forces criticized the American attack, stressing that its continuation would complicate stability and security in the country, which has been under American influence since the last years of the war.
