Iraq’s Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for launching an attack on “Ain al-Assad airbase,” which houses US forces in the occupied west of the country, with a missile barrage.
“In continuation of our path in resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the massacres of the zionist entity against our people in Gaza, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked the occupied Ain Al-Assad base in western Iraq with a rocket barrage,” the group said in a statement
According to the statement, The Islamic Resistance confirms its continued intent to strike the enemy’s strongholds.
Local reports had previously indicated that the American forces at the “Ain al-Assad” base in western Iraq were subjected to a new attack on Saturday. Sources from the “Ain al-Assad” base confirmed that the base was targeted by at least ten heavy missiles from multiple trajectories, according to preliminary estimates, hitting its surroundings and affecting the presence of American forces.
Following the attack, a US official reported injuries in the rank of US forces at the base. Regarding the attack, Iraqi media circulated reports about a large missile barrage launched towards the American base, which had been previously targeted by Iraqi resistance several times as a part of its operations against the US presence in Iraq.
