The factions of the Transitional Council loyal to the UAE launched a massive campaign of raids and arrests in the central regions of Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
This coincided with the escalation of tensions in the governorate, after the return of bombings against factions of the Council.
The Abyan Governorate Police said that it, in partnership with groups of the joint forces of the Transitional Council, carried out a massive campaign to chase wanted persons in the Modiyah District, it claimed.
Violent clashes had broken out earlier today, between the transitional factions and tribal elements in the Lahmar area in the center of the district, following a bombing that targeted reinforcements of the council, resulting in one dead person and a number of wounded.
