The President of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, Mahdi Al-Mashat, affirmed on Thursday the state’s determination to punish and prosecute those involved in the unfortunate Rada’a incident, and to provide justice to the victims.
This came during a call made by President Al-Mashat with the Chairman and members of the committee charged with going to follow up on the unfortunate incident that occurred in the city of Rada’a incident in Bayda province. In this incident, the use of excessive force by Yemeni military units while pursuing suspected saboteurs resulted in an explosion that killed up to thirteen civilians.
During the call, President Al-Mashat heard from the committee a detailed explanation about the progress of the investigation into the case and the measures that have been taken to compensate the families of the victims and treat the injured.
The President asked the committee to convey his condolences to the families of the victims of the incident, expressing his appreciation for the patriotic stances expressed by the families of the victims, which blocked the way for the enemies of Yemen who sought to exploit the incident in order to undermine national unity.
