The Yemeni blockade imposed on Israeli shipping continues to drain the occupation economy after preventing the arrival of important goods to settlers.
The Calcalist economic website said that the last time a ship carrying cars entered the port of Eilat was last November 20, due to the Yemeni blockade.
The website indicated that not a single car was unloaded at the port in January and February 2024, stressing that the market is preparing for a shortage and high prices in the second half of the current year.
A few days ago, the director of the Port of Eilat confirmed that the port administration was preparing to lay off half of the workers due to the cessation of ship movement to and from the port for fear of Yemeni targeting.
Recently, the Israeli market has been witnessing a major crisis due to an increase in the prices of various goods and commodities, after the cost of transporting them to the occupied territories increased as a result of the Yemeni siege.
The Yemeni armed forces impose a naval blockade on Israeli shipping, to pressure the occupation and its allies to stop the aggression and lift the siege on Gaza.
