A recruit of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias was killed on Tuesday in Abyan province, south of Yemen.
Media sources loyal to the STC said unidentified gunmen believed to belong to terrorist Al-Qaeda members set up an armed ambush against a STC’s military vehicle in Wadi Jinn in Mudiyah District, which led also to the injury of others.
The sources confirmed that the armed ambush came after an attack by Qaeda members against the STC factions’ sites on Monday.
The repeated targeting of elements loyal to the UAE has increased since it took control of the districts of Abyan with the so-called “Arrows of the East” operation in August 2022.
