United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed that there are two million people without any safety in the Gaza Strip, trying to protect themselves from hunger, disease, and the continuing Zionist bombing.

This came in a speech during a session of the United Nations General Assembly on “human security” last night.

Guterres said: “When I hear the phrase human security, I think of two million people in Gaza who have no security at all, and are desperately trying to protect themselves from famine, disease and the continuing Zionist bombing.”

Guterres stressed that nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

He explained that with a group of World Central Kitchen workers who were killed as a result of an attack by the Zionist occupation army yesterday, 196 relief workers were martyred in Gaza, including 171 from the United Nations.

He called for the implementation of the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council last week regarding an urgent humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and an increase in humanitarian aid.
