Hellenic Shipping News, a company specializing in global maritime shipping, confirmed that these ships tampered with Automatic Identification System (AIS) data to camouflage themselves against attacks from Yemen.
It pointed out that manipulating the identification system data, with the aim of concealment, is not safe and may actually increase the possibility of targeting the ship from Yemen, as it will in fact only lead to turning ships into more attractive targets for Yemeni attacks.
The company, which specializes in maritime shipping, said: There is no evidence so far that attacks from Yemen can be prevented by stealth and manipulation of its automatic identification (AIS) data.
Last Thursday, Yemen announced the targeting of 90 ships linked to Israel since the start of operations targeting ships linked to the entity in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea last October, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are being subjected to crimes of genocide, according to United Nations organizations.
Cargo ships linked to the enemy deliberately hide the identities of other countries or manipulate the identification system, but the Yemeni forces are intensifying monitoring and follow-up of ships linked to the enemy, which has made these tricks useless, and most of the ships failed to hide and were vulnerable to targeting.
