Hours of power outages have escalated in Aden, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Transitional Council in southern Yemen, with the onset of summer.
Sources said that the power outages exceeded 6 hours due to the scarcity of fuel operating the generating stations, with the inability of the Ahmed bin Mubarak government to provide sufficient quantities.
It added that although summer is still just beginning, the power outages have exacerbated the living burdens of residents, especially those suffering from chronic diseases, as cases of fainting have been recorded as a result of the high temperatures.
They Pointed out that one of the merchants provided an emergency quantity of fuel to keep the stations operating for days and prevent them from going out of service.
