Pro-Palestine student protests in the US universities have spread to McGill University, one of Canada’s leading universities.

The protesters held up signs with messages like “We will not allow our university to be complicit in genocide”. They also demanded support for the Palestinian people, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

Several tents have gone up on McGill’s downtown campus in what students are calling an act of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, joining a wave of similar protests taking place across US campuses amid the ongoing Israeli genocide on Gaza.

Earlier in February, McGill University students went on a hunger strike to express their support for the people of Gaza.

On April 18th, Palestinian solidarity students at Columbia University in the United States began a sit-in protest in the university’s campus park, protesting against its ongoing financial investments in companies supporting Israel war against the Palestinian people and the genocide in Gaza. 108 students were arrested during the demonstrations.

Later on, protests by pro-Palestinian students spread to other leading universities in the United States, such as New York University, Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of North Carolina, and others.
