An Indian ship carrying a large shipment of Emirati cement intended for foreign military bases sank off the Yemeni coast of Socotra, east of the Gulf of Aden.
Media sources explained that the Indian ship sank during the past hours, 30 miles from Socotra Governorate, carrying 600 tons of Emirati cement.
They pointed out that the UAE sent a shipment of cement designated for military bases after it seized the quantities of Socotra merchants during the past two weeks, witnessing a stifling cement crisis.
The impact of the monsoon winds on the Socotra archipelago began yesterday, Tuesday, during next June-September, which doubled the suffering of the people of Socotra due to the cessation of ship navigation and the supply of basic services and goods to the island.
