The American CNN news network revealed on Wednesday that in the air strike on Rafah last Sunday that killing dozens of displaced Palestinians, ammunition made in the United States was used.
According to the network’s report, four weapons experts who watched the video found in it the tail of the GBU-39 bomb, which is a small diameter bomb manufactured by Boeing and used for attacks on fighter aircraft.
This is a high-precision bomb designed to attack targets of strategic importance – and should cause limited peripheral damage, a weapons expert told CNN. But, according to the expert, “the use of any type of ammunition carries risks when carried out in a densely populated urban environment.”
