US police arrested Dr. Tiffany Willoughby-Herard, professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), for joining the student sit-in supporting Palestine on campus.
Video on social media platforms showed US police stormed location of student sit-in at the University of California campus and arrested several participants.
Among those arrested was Dr. Tiffany Willoughby-Herard, an Associate Professor in the Global and International Studies Department at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She was throwing down, her hands handcuffed behind her back.
Another clip documented Dr. Tiffany’s statements on her way to the police station. When a television channel asked her if she was worried about risking her job, she replied, ‘We cannot have a foreign policy of genocide in a democratic country.’
She added, “These young people are the ones who have to fight against these terrible decisions that the police officers are making here today. What job do I have if the students don’t have a future?”
