Iranian Interior Ministry: Masoud Pezeshkian receives 42.3% of the votes

With over 14 million ballots counted in Iran’s presidential election until Saturday morning, Masoud Pezeshkian has slightly increased his lead on runner-up Saeed Jalili by winning 42.32 percent of the votes, the Elections Headquarters announced.

The Iranian Ministry of Interior announced a short while ago that Masoud Pezeshkian obtained 42.3% of the votes compared to 39.5% for Saeed Jalili after counting approximately 14 million votes.

The Iranian Ministry of Interior provided new results for the counted votes as follows:

The total number of valid and invalid votes is 14,070,462.

Masoud Pezeshkian: 5,955,781 votes.

Saeed Jalili: 5,560,321 votes.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: 1,891,385 votes.

Mostafa Mirsalim: 11,967 votes.
