Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government, Engineer Hisham Sharaf, has sent a written message to Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad.

In his message, Minister Sharaf expressed Yemen’s appreciation for Algeria’s principled stance against the military aggression and extensive blockade imposed on Yemen.

He emphasized that Algeria’s position aligns with its role as a staunch supporter of nations’ rights to self-defense and self-determination.

Sharaf highlighted the significance of the Palestinian issue for Arab, Islamic nations, and global advocates of freedom. Yemen’s opposition to Israeli aggression, Minister Sharaf noted, stems from the deep solidarity of the Yemeni people with Palestine.

Minister Sharaf urged Algeria to take a humanitarian and legal stance in defending innocent Palestinian lives against the prolonged Israeli occupation, which has been supported by substantial financial, political, military, and logistical backing from various countries. He lamented the recent trend of some nations moving towards normalization with Israel, forsaking the Palestinian cause.

Regarding Yemen’s actions targeting Israeli-owned ships or those traveling to and from occupied Palestinian ports, Minister Sharaf clarified that these efforts are aimed at halting Israeli aggression and ensuring unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, medicine, food, and fuel to Gaza.

He reiterated Yemen’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Algeria across all sectors, particularly in the aftermath of aggression against Yemen. Such collaboration, he stressed, would mutually benefit both nations and advance the interests of the broader Arab and Islamic world.
