UNICEF has released a troubling report, revealing that an alarming nine out of ten children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe lack of essential nutrients necessary for proper growth and development.

In a statement issued on Thursday, UNICEF highlighted the devastating impact of ongoing conflict and humanitarian restrictions on the region’s food and health systems, resulting in dire consequences for children and their families.
Data collected from December 2023 to April 2024 underscored the severity of the situation, with nine out of ten children in Gaza experiencing severe food poverty.

This means they are surviving on just two or fewer food groups per day amid the relentless Zionist bombardment since last October.

The report emphasized the urgent need for intervention to prevent life-threatening malnutrition among children, stressing that to achieve the minimum level of dietary diversity required for healthy development, children must have access to foods from at least five of the eight food groups outlined by UNICEF and the World Health Organization.

These include essential items like breast milk, eggs, dairy products, and meat.
These findings shed light on the harrowing reality faced by children in Gaza, underscoring the critical need for immediate action to address the unfolding humanitarian crisis.
