The Ministry of Fisheries condemned on Sunday the attack that the Saudi-led aggression’s mercenaries carried out on fishermen in the coastal area of Buhais in Medi District, Hajjah province.
The ministry said in a statement that the aggression’s mercenaries had seized four boats with fishing equipment and forced the fishermen to return on one boat.
The statement warned the aggression’s mercenaries against continuing such criminal and arbitrary acts against defenceless fishermen who depend on fishing as their sole source of livelihood, holding the Saudi regime and the coalition-backed government fully responsible for the safety of the fishermen and their property.
It called on the United Nations and its humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities towards Yemeni fishermen and their injustice, and to condemn the ongoing violations against fishermen by the coalition and its militants.
The statement called for pressure on the coalition forces to return the detained boats and fishing equipment, and to stop all practices and violations against fishermen.
