Container shipping rates have risen to 40% in recent weeks, against the backdrop of the United States’ militarization of the Red and Arab Seas and the continued Zionist aggression against Gaza.

The Marine Link website, which specializes in maritime shipping, explained that the average price of containers has risen by 40% in the past six weeks to $5,068, noting that the small free shares of Hapag-Lloyd have risen by 7% since mid-May.

In turn, the CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Shipping Company stated that the demand for container shipping led to an increase in shipping prices during the past two months due to the situation in the Red Sea.

Lloyd expected that global demand for container space would rise by between 3% and 4% on an annual basis in 2024, pointing out that maritime transfers lead to the detention of approximately 5-9% of global ship capacity.
