The city of Aden, which is under occupation, is experiencing heightened security and alert due to the presence of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, in anticipation of a mass demonstration by the Ashal tribes of Abyan and their supporters from various regions.
Media sources reported that the STC mercenaries, fearing potential raids on prisons to search for the kidnapped Ali Ashal, have transferred several prisoners and detainees in the city of Aden to secret detention facilities following public outrage in the southern region demanding to reveal the fate of the abducted Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani since June.
A document issued by the Command-and-Control Center, addressed to the ” Al-Asifa Forces” and marked as “Highly Confidential,” instructed the transfer of prisoners from Aden to new, undisclosed locations.
The document, circulated by human rights activists from the south, emphasized the need to transfer the detainees with the highest level of security and secrecy, and to update the records with the names of the detainees once the transfer is complete.
This move follows the recent release of several prisoners by the STC, amid growing public dissatisfaction with the abductions of citizens in Aden and other southern governorates.
It is worth noting that the precautionary measures taken by the STC to transfer the detainees came after assigning committees from the so-called “Attorney General” to inspect the STC-run prisons following widespread demands for the release of detainees and the forcibly disappeared, in conjunction with the abduction of Ashal and his torture and execution in one of the prisons in Aden.
Human rights activists are discussing the names of notorious prisons in Aden managed by the STC in various areas, including Gold Moor, Jabal Hadeed, Bir Ahmed, Wadih Hall, and Workers Island, among others.
Most of the prisoners are from Abyan, accounting for 80%, according to statements by Anas Al-Shareek, the head of the Observer Human Rights Organization in Aden,
