The European mission in the Red Sea, known as ” Aspides “, reported on Monday that a fire continues to blaze on a Greek-flagged ship following an attack by Yemeni armed forces three days ago.
In a statement posted on X platform, the mission noted that there are fires on at least 5 locations observed on the main deck of the vessel.
“It is estimated that these are located around the hatches of the vessel’s oil tanks. Additionally, part of the superstructure is on fire, too. So far there are no obvious signs of an oil spill,” the statement read.
“The ship remains anchored at the same point in international waters.”
The European mission attached photographs showing the ongoing fires on the vessel.
