The city of Zinjibar in Abyan governorate witnessed on Saturday a “million-man” protest, demanding the disclosure of the fate of the kidnapped “Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani,” who has been in the custody of the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC), since June.

In a statement issued by the organizing committee of the protest, calling on countries of the Saudi-led coalition the coalition countries, to intervene swiftly to release Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani and to reveal the fate of all kidnapped and forcibly disappeared individuals.

The statement accused the coalition countries and the quartet of being complicit in the genocide against Yemenis.

It asserted that the people of the southern governorates have the right to seek international protection to address and prevent these violations.

The statement also accused the STC of turning a blind eye to those accused of kidnapping and aiding their escape abroad.

The statement renewed its demand for the immediate release of Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, the disclosure of the fate of all kidnapped and forcibly disappeared individuals, the release of those without any charges, fair compensation, and referral of those with charges to the competent authorities.

It called for the enforcement of the system, laws, and social justice, ensuring that no entities, individuals, or political groups are granted any special treatment or exceptions.

The statement condemned the silence of the “Presidential Leadership Council” over the severe practices and violations occurring under the guise of counter-terrorism in Aden against the southern people and their failure to respond to their just demands.

The protest held the local authorities loyal to the STC in Aden fully responsible for the life of Major Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani and all kidnapped and forcibly disappeared individuals, pledging to escalate their actions until their demands are met.
